The Success Formula: Tech Mindset + Values Alignment
Enabling more connected journeys so that travelers have more and better choices is what drives Dohop, an Iceland-based travel technology company focused on alternative interlining, to rapidly scale its flight portfolio. Dohop’s alternative interlining offering continues to expand, offering travelers unmatched connectivity. Through its collaboration with Atlas, Dohop seamlessly secured access to over 150 low-cost carriers (LCCs) via Atlas’s ATRIP platform, further enhancing its network of routes and alternative interlining connections available to passengers.‘With their expertise in LCC content, integrating with Atlas made perfect sense to us. The team shares our vision for transforming airline retailing and sees the world as we do. We love working with driven, like-minded companies and that is clearly the case here,’ says David Gunnarsson, CEO of Dohop.
At a glance: Meeting the demands of alternative interlining
- Dohop, a leader in alternative interlining solutions, connects airlines and provides travelers with more flight options to choose from. Recognizing the growing demand for low-cost flights, Dohop wanted to create a network that meets passenger needs, but accessing and servicing reliable LCC content from hundreds of airlines worldwide posed a challenge.
- Dohop sought an LCC content provider with not only diverse content but also the technology for seamless API integration with its interlining platform. The ideal partner needed to offer high-quality air content, reliable post-ticketing support, efficient payments, and full regulatory compliance.
- This collaboration enabled Dohop to accelerate the expansion of its alternative interline network, leveraging Atlas’s comprehensive LCC content while maintaining its focus on delivering a seamless booking experience for travelers.
- In one year, Dohop expanded its partnership with Atlas to 34 airlines and created over 67,537 unique origin-destination pairs, giving travelers more flight options than ever before.
- Atlas ticked all the boxes with 150 low-cost airlines, competitive pricing, a 97% booking success rate, lightning-fast search (<0.5 sec), efficient payments, and 24/7 customer support.
- Looking ahead to 2025, plans include adding more airlines, new ancillaries, and collaborative sales campaigns.
Why content alone is not enough
For David Gunnarsson, CEO of Dohop, finding an LCC content provider with the right mindset was essential.“We’re disruptors in a traditional industry, creating something new, moving fast, and doing things differently,” he says. “But airline retailing is complex, often held back by legacy tech, complacency, and outdated thinking.”
After exploring different LCC providers, Dohop realized that content alone wasn’t enough. “Agility, responsiveness, a passenger-first approach, and a willingness to learn are key for us,” David explains. “We want to grow quickly without compromising our values or quality standards.”
David’s first in-person meeting with Mary Li, Atlas’s Founder and CEO, and Clive Ashmore Butler, Chief Customer Officer, convinced him that Atlas was more than just a content provider.
We spent hours discussing airline retailing from a passenger’s perspective – how to simplify the booking process, eliminate inefficiencies, keep fares low, and still deliver a first-class experience.”
And that’s where the collaboration began.

Onboarding on ATRIP: From API Integration to Sales
Even before signing a contract, Dohop gained access to the ATRIP Flight Deck – Atlas’s proprietary customer portal, with access to the full range of Atlas offering:- Airline list, routes, and fares
- API documentation and integration guides
- Self-service post-booking support tools
“We were pleasantly surprised by the Atlas team’s speed and responsiveness during our onboarding. Every question on API integration, content performance, commercial terms, and compliance was answered quickly” says Katrín Atladóttir, VP of B2C at Dohop.
“We have high performance benchmarks, expecting a success rate above 95% across all content. Speed of search response and fare accuracy are critical – showing correct prices instantly at every stage is essential. While our own system meets these standards, not all content providers can keep up,” explains David
ATRIP, Atlas’s Air Travel Retailing and Information Platform, delivered. With 97% booking success rates, Atlas’s content hit the mark for search response time (<0.5 sec) and reliable post-ticketing support.
And this was just the takeoff speed before reaching full altitude…
Expanding Fast: 10x growth in monthly segment sales with 34 LCCs
To open new growth opportunities, Dohop and Atlas continuously assess the potential value of LCC content available through ATRIP.
David Gunnarsson explains: “We closely monitor customer demand, ready to add more flight options as we spot increased searches for specific routes, connections, or destinations.”
In 2024, travel to the Middle East has surged, as the region continues to open to the world. Low-cost airlines connecting South Asian and European gateways to Middle Eastern hubs are perfectly positioned to meet this demand – and search data clearly reflected the interest.
With Atlas’s 100% LCC coverage across this fast-growing region, Dohop is equipped to quickly seize this opportunity.

Scaling Alternative Interlining with Smart Partnerships
Dohop’s advanced interlining technology integrates Atlas’s LCC content to deliver unmatched connectivity for passengers. By combining its scalable platform with Atlas’s specialized content, Dohop continues to lead the way in transforming air travel with efficient, passenger-first solutions. This end-to-end solution enables Dohop to expand its business and seize revenue opportunities from LCCs around the globe, all with minimal operational handling required.“Airline retailing is not simple. The way to grow and deliver a quality proposition to your customers and travelers is to find partners like Atlas, with specific expertise, similar values and approach. That’s how we can expand capabilities and focus on what we do best.” says David Gunnarsson.Explore Atlas’s LCC content and solutions here
