About the Role:

Are you a seasoned sales and business development leader seeking a new challenge in the travel technology sector? As the Director Sales & Growth China at Atlas, you will spearhead the development and execution of our customer strategy in China, aiming to solidify our market presence and drive revenue growth. Your role involves understanding client needs, translating them into innovative solutions, and fostering lasting partnerships to keep Atlas at the forefront of the industry.

Internal Relationships:

This role will report to the Head of Growth for activities related to account management and the Head of Sales for new client acquisition. As an account director, you will oversee a team of account managers located in China. You will collaborate closely with the Air Content and Customer Solutions teams to deliver superior products and services to our clients. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between our customers and our product and tech teams, ensuring that customer feedback informs the development of Atlas’ solutions.

External Relationships:

In this role, you will establish and maintain valuable relationships with key decision makers and influencers across our prospective and existing client base in China. Together with your team, you will be our relationship management and business development lead who will drive profitable growth in both new business and CLV of existing customers. You will lead the acquisition of new partnership while ensuring that each strategic account is well supported to thrive within Atlas’ ecosystem. You will also be a powerful brand ambassador representing Atlas at industry forums and events.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales / Business Development:

  • Lead the design of Atlas’ sales strategy in China to maximize market position and distribution share.
  • Drive the execution of the current sales strategy and expand the client portfolio in China across different travel sellers and business models.
  • Translate client needs into innovative product solutions to maintain a competitive edge in the travel industry.

Revenue Growth:

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, leverage data to identify growth opportunities, and tailor relevant account growth strategies and plans
  • Lead, mentor, and empower team members responsible for executing growth strategies to ensure they are well-equipped to deliver results while ensuring exceptional client experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value-added solutions and ensure excellence in executing account growth initiatives
  • Contribute to the development and continuous refinement of account growth playbook while ensuring its implementation among the operational team
  • Develop compelling value propositions and lead the efforts to upsell and cross-sell additional products and services to existing clients

Account Management:

  • Establish and track KPIs that measure both health and growth of accounts, providing regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders and serve as point of contact for high-level discussions, negotiation, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Bridge the customer feedback with internal stakeholders and influence product roadmap to add the most value for both parties

 

Requirements

Communication:

  • Native proficiency in Chinese and strong business English skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

Analytics & Tooling:

  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, spreadsheet tools, and familiarity with BI & analytics platforms.
  • Prior working experience with CRM software

Leadership & Project Management:

  • Experienced in team leadership with demonstrated success in building high performing teams
  • Proven track record in managing revenue-generating projects with high complexity that require cross-functional collaborations

Relevant Experience:

  • Significant experience in business development/account management roles, preferably at senior level
  • Background in airline or travel retailing industries is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in closing B2B deals and growing revenue from strategic accounts.
